F-3 Visa (Family Dependants) Target, Eligibility, Extension, Documents

Target

▶ Accompanying Family

Spouses and minor children of individuals who qualify for cultural arts (D-1) to specific activities (E-7), excluding those eligible for technical training (D-3).

Duration of stay granted one time: The period of stay set for the accompanying person


E-visa target

▶ Companion of Professional

Spouse and minor children of foreign nationals with qualifications of professor (E-1), research (E-3), technical guidance (E-4), professional occupation (E-5) and specific activity (E-7) who have received an employment recommendation letter in the field of advanced science and technology (GOLD CARD).

<Required Documents>

Submit documents and issue visas according to the criteria and procedures for screening visa issuance for accompanying (F-3) qualifications.



Visa issuance target

▶ Single visa of less than one year's stay for the spouse and minor children of those who qualify for cultural arts (D-1), study abroad (D-2), general training (D-4) to specific activities (E-7), without a spouse.

※ Accompanying (F-3) visa issuance for accompanying entrants of press (D-5) qualification must have a domestic branch (country) opened.

① Visa issuance application form (Appendix 17), passport, 1 standard size photo, fee

② Family relationship certification documents

- Marriage certificate, family relationship record certificate, or birth certificate, etc.

(For Chinese, resident ID, marriage certificate, and household register)

③ Livelihood sustainability evidence documents

- Inviter's employment certificate and tax payment certificate, etc.

※ If it is difficult to submit a tax payment certificate (for example: some D series, primarily those applying with the visa holder) it can be replaced by other financial proof documents.

※ The head of a foreign consulate can add or subtract some of the required documents as needed for screening purposes such as checking the purpose of entry, authenticity of invitation, and qualifications of the inviter and invitee.



Visa issuance recognized target

▶ Spouse and minor children(without a spouse) of those who qualify for cultural arts (D-1), study abroad (D-2), general training (D-4) to specific activities (E-7)

※ In principle, a visa issuance certificate is issued only when applying for a visa issuance recognition with the accompanying person (original qualifier)

① Visa issuance recognition application form (Appendix 21), passport copy, 1 standard size photo

② Family relationship certification documents

- Marriage certificate, family relationship record certificate, or birth certificate, etc.

(For Chinese, resident ID, marriage certificate, and household register)

③ Livelihood sustainability evidence documents

- Inviter's employment certificate and tax payment certificate, etc.

※ The head of the Immigration and Foreigner Office (office/branch) can add or subtract some of the required documents as needed for screening purposes such as checking the authenticity of the invitation, and qualifications of the inviter and invitee.



Residence qualification change permission

1. Permission to change to accompanying (F-3) qualification for those who have entered on visa-free (B-1), tourism transit (B-2), or short-term visa due to housekeeping and other unavoidable reasons.

2. Permission to change to professional qualification for spouses of professional foreign manpower

A. Permission target

Spouse of a professional foreign worker《E-1 to E-5, E-6 (excluding E-6-2), E-7》who is a holder of accompanying (F-3) qualification.

B. Permission Area

▶ Grant of permission to change resident qualification for all professions corresponding to professional jobs 《E-1 to E-5, E-6 (excluding E-6-2), E-7》

Permission for Activities Beyond Residence Qualification

1. Employment for high-investment foreigners and professional spouses

A. Targets

- Spouses of foreign professionals who have qualifications such as advanced science and technology personnel (SCIENCE card), cutting-edge technology personnel (GOLD card), and information technology personnel (IT card)

- Spouses of investors who have invested $500,000 or more (including corporations)

- Spouses of professional foreign personnel (E-1, E-2, E-3, E-4, E-5, E-6 excluding E-6-2, E-7)

B. Allowed Area

- Permission for activities beyond the residency qualification for all professions except simple labor (D-3, E-9)

C. Permit period: Until the stay of the spouse (continuous extension possible)

D. Required Documents: Additional documents according to the residency qualification (omission of identity guarantee)

※ If you intend to work in a specific activity (E-7), the guidelines for issuing an E-7 qualification certificate should be followed.


2. Expansion of the exemption range for activities beyond residence qualification

- If you want to receive education from regular educational institutions (elementary, middle, high school, and university) within the scope that does not violate the original purpose of stay, no separate permission process is required within the range of stay.


3. Foreign language instructor (E-7) in national institutions and public corporations (local autonomous bodies, government investment institutions) of visitors (F-1) and accompaniment (F-3) qualified persons.

Granting of Stay Qualification

Re-entry Permit

1. Implementation of Re-entry Permit Exemption System

- If a foreigner required to register intends to re-enter within 1 year from the date of departure, re-entry permit is exempted.

- If the remaining stay period is less than 1 year, re-entry permit is exempted within the range of the stay period.

※ However, those who are restricted from entry and visa issuance must visit the jurisdiction office (branch office) of their residence to receive a re-entry permit.

2. Multiple Re-entry Permit

(Saudi Arabia, Iran, Libya are limited to multiple re-entries.

However, marriage immigrants (F­6), students (D­2), and general trainees (D­4) from these countries are allowed)

- If you intend to re-enter within 2 years, exceeding 1 year after departure
