E7 Visa (E-7-2) Caregiver
(Job Description)
- Provides services that support physical activities and daily living such as assisting with meals, bathing, toileting, dressing, mobility, posture changes, walking, accompanying to hospitals, walking training, and simple rehabilitation training. Also provides psychological support by engaging in conversations
(Examples of Eligible Occupations) Caregiver
(Citizen Employment Protection Review Standards) General standards applied
- Number of employees per company: Limited to 20% of the number of employed Korean nationals
(Income Requirement) At least the current year’s minimum wage
(All of the following conditions must be met)
① (Education) Possession of an associate degree or higher from a domestic university
② (Certification) Possession of Caregiver Certificate ※ Verifiable through the Korea Health Personnel Licensing Examination Institute website
③ (Korean Language Proficiency) Completion of Level 3 or higher in the Social Integration Program (KIIP), or a score of 61 or higher on the pre-evaluation test, or Level 3 or higher in the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean)
(Required Documents)
- Degree certificate, caregiver certificate, Korean language proficiency documents, etc.
(Maximum Number of Permits) During the pilot operation period (2024–2025), up to 400 individuals per year may be introduced/invited
※ Certificate of Visa Issuance and status change applications are submitted to the headquarters (Residence Management Division) → quota request → quota number issuance → approval
(Employer Standards) Elderly medical welfare facilities under the “Elderly Welfare Act”
※ Long-term care institution designation certificate issued by the local city/county/district (institutions with code starting with 1)
(Residence Management, etc.) General standards applied
(Workplace Change) Allowed in cases not attributable to the foreign worker, such as closure, business difficulties, or expiration of employment contract
